SCMA Announce 2018 Award Nominees
The Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) have announced the nominees for the 29th Annual Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. The final nominees in 26 categories represent Saskatchewan’s top musicians and industry personnel as recognized by their peers and the SCMA Board of Directors.
The 2018 awards weekend will be held April 27-29 in Prince Albert, SK with awards being presented at ceremonies including a televised awards show on the evening of April 28.

MusicOntario and JAZZ.FM91 Present Tune Up Toronto: Focus on Jazz
MusicOntario and JAZZ.FM91 will be presenting Tune Up Toronto: The Jazz Workshop on April 29 from 1:00PM-7:00PM at Hugh’s Room Live.
The workshop series is designed to cater to the needs of local music communities, for artists and emerging music professionals alike. This edition of Tune Up Toronto is exclusively designed for Ontario’s Jazz community and will feature a day of workshops and networking.

CMW and The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada Present: The 1st Annual Canadian Sync Awards
Canadian Music Week and The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada are teaming up to present the 1st Annual Canadian Sync Awards sponsored by songtradr. The awards will recognize the contribution synch makes to the creative industries.
The Canadian Sync Awards will take place on Saturday, May 12 at The Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Tickets are now available to be purchased here.

Call for Submissions: Manitoba Music Summer Songwriter Retreat
Manitoba Music will be inviting nine songwriters to participate in a collaborative songwriting retreat from June 10-13, 2018 at Falcon Trails Resort. The three-day co-writing retreat is part of the Bell Media Canadian Songwriter Challenge.

Submissions Now Open: Fundy Rose Showcasing Opportunity
Music Nova Scotia is seeking musicians for the music program onboard the Fundy Rose this summer! Solo artists and/or duo’s who can play a variety of folk, celtic, acadian and traditional music and who are keen to entertain travellers from all over the world are invited to submit their applications now.

Call for Artists: Midis Musique Series
The Capitol Theatre, in partnership with Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc has opened up applications for artists who are interested in performing during the free summer concert series Midis Musique Series.
The concerts will be presented in Oak Lane every Wednesday from June 27 to August 29.
The submission deadline is April 30, 2018.

Music BC has announced that they will be partnering with Pickathon to showcase select BC artists on stage throughout the festival. The festival will take place from August 3-5 in Portland, Oregon and artists are encouraged to apply to perform at one of Portland’s most revered cultural experiences.
