Submit Now: Canadian Folk Music Awards 2018
The Canadian Folk Music Awards returns for its 14th edition from November 30 until December 1 in Calgary, AB. Submissions are now open for the 2018 CFMA’s with important changes to eligibility dates. Canadian artists and groups whose albums were released in Canada between June 1 2017 until May 31 2018 are eligible. Also new this year, eligible entries must comprise at least 75% recorded tracks that have not been previously released by the artist.
The deadline to submit applications is June 15, 2018.

Apply To Play: SKOOKUM Festival
Music BC has partnered with SKOOKUM Festival to present a number of up and coming BC talent at this year’s inaugural festival. Submissions are now open to BC-based performers with successful applicants announced on May 22.
Music BC showcases will take place on the weekend of September 7-9, 2018.
The deadline to submit applications is May 10, 2018.

Apply Now: Folk Alliance International 2018
The Folk Alliance International Conference returns to Canada next year from February 13-17, 2019 in Montreal, QC. Official showcase applications opened up earlier this week and artists are encouraged to apply until the deadline of August 15. Official showcasing artists will be notified by September 17.
Note that artists who had an official showcase in 2017 and a second in 2018 are not eligible to apply in 2019. The official showcase application fee for FAI members is 15$ and 30$ for non-members. The application fees will increase throughout the summer.
CIMA will be returning to Folk Alliance in 2019. More details coming in the upcoming months.

Applications Now Open: Indie Week Canada 2018
One of Canada’s top emerging artist festivals, Indie Week Canada, will be returning to Toronto from November 6-11, 2018 with 300+ artist, 25+ venues over 6 days. This is a great launch pad for artists who want to enter into American and Canadian markets.
Artist applications are now open for the music festival and will remain open until Monday, July 16. There is an application fee of $35.00USD.

Final Call for Artists: Music Matters Live
The deadline for artists interested in applying for Music Matters Live 2018 has now been extended until Thursday, May 31.
Bands, singer-songwriters, DJs and duos are all encouraged to apply by completing and submitting this application form for free. The application will then be reviewed by the booking team with selected artists contacted over the next few months.

Join CIMA’s Fifth Annual Business & Showcase Mission to the Americana Music Festival & Conference
CIMA will once again be returning to the Americana Music Festival and Conference in Nashville for a Canadian Blast showcase and business mission in September 2018.
Presented by Music Export Canada, CIMA will be hosting a Canadian Blast daytime showcase at InDo from noon-6pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018. This is an excellent opportunity for 6-8 Canadian bands to showcase to festival delegates and attendees.

CIMA is excited to be heading back to Germany for Reeperbahn 2018. We’ll once again be hosting a seventh installment of Canada House and presenting showcases. This is a fantastic opportunity to access the 3rd largest worldwide music market with Reeperbahn attracting thousands of artists and music industry professionals from across the globe.

Canada House returns to the official Great Escape festival this month! Presenting three days of live showcases from hotly-tipped players in Canada’s thriving independent music scene.
Brighton’s Green Door Store venue once again provides the backdrop to these much anticipated showcases and will be known as ‘Canada House’ over the festival weekend.
