Submissions Open: “East Meets West” Spotlight
Submissions are now open for the “East Meets West” spotlight presented by ECMA and BreakOut West during the 2019 edition of the East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference. The 31st annual celebration will take place in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from May 1-5, 2019.
Two export-ready BreakOut West artists/groups will be selected for two showcase performances at the 2019 ECMAs. Artists of all genres are encouraged to submit via the form below.

Apply Now: Jazzahead! Showcases 2019
Applications are now open for showcasing during jazzahead! 2019. Registered exhibitors, co-exhibitors and professional participants (all days) are now encouraged to apply for one of the slots at the international branch meeting.
The showcase program will be selected by international juries.
The deadline for applications is November 22, 2018.

Apply to Play: The Great Escape 2019
Applications are now open for the 2019 edition of The Great Escape festival in Brighton, UK. The call out is open to all artists including bands, singer-songwriters, DJs, collectives, duos at more.
All submissions will be reviewed by TGE’s booking team and those artists chosen to perform will be contacted directly over the coming months.

Folk Alliance International
CIMA will not be holding an official Canadian Blast showcase at Folk Alliance International in Montreal this February. Instead, we will be focusing on several business events (one-on-ones, roundtable sessions, networking reception) for participating Canadian delegates. More information can be found on CIMA’s website later this month.

AmericanaFest UK
CIMA is currently in contact with AmericanaFest UK about selected artists. These artists are slowly being contacted by us as we receive approvals from the festival, so please be patient!

Eastern European Incoming Mission
CIMA will be organizing an incoming Eastern European mission which will take place in February 2019 (dates TBC). The mission will tie in with Folk Alliance International, taking place in Montreal in 2019. More details coming soon.

“Made in Canada” Showcase at Australian Music Week This Week:
The “Made in Canada” Showcase will take place Thursday, November 8th at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla, Australia featuring performances by some of Canada’s finest exporting talent. The showcase will take place during Australian Music Week & Conference and is presented by the East Coast Music Association (ECMA), Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA), Canadian Music Week and BreakOut West. Call for Submissions: Canadian Blast BBQ at SXSW 2019
CIMA, through Music Export Canada, is excited to announce that submissions are now being accepted for our 2019 Canadian Blast BBQ at Austin’s SXSW! This year’s mission will mark the 14th year that CIMA will be in attendance for this key showcase and business development opportunity at the most influential and largest music festival & conference in North America.
Our legendary Canadian Blast BBQ will be taking place on March 13, 2019 and will be moving to a new venue – The Bungalow (on Main Street). This event, the kickoff for CIMA’s Canadian Blast mission at SXSW, is a high-profile event that draws hundreds of VIP international delegates, media and thousands of SXSW delegates!
We’re now accepting submissions for artists interested in showcasing at our Canadian Blast BBQ.
Please complete the submission form prior to the end of day on Friday, November 9, 2018. As always, the final Canadian Blast line-up will be selected by CIMA’s external Talent Selection Committee.
