SaskMusic (The Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association) is a member-based, non-profit corporation representing the four components of the music and sound recording industries – Creation, Interpretation, Technical, Administration and Delivery.

SaskMusic stimulates the growth and development of the Saskatchewan music industry through leadership, promotion, training, advocacy and partnership.

We work for Saskatchewan music artists and the music industry on provincial, national and international levels, including:

  • Workshops and personal career consultations throughout the province
  • Funding guidance with applications to FACTOR and other agencies
  • Networking and showcase opportunities
  • Advocacy – we speak for your interests and update you on information that could affect your career

Saskatchewan is located in the heart of North America. To the east and west are the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Alberta. To the south it borders the American states of Montana and North Dakota. To the north are Canada’s Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Stereotypically referred to by most touring artists as “flat”. Admittedly, winter travel can prove a challenge with weather and temperatures, but this is offset by one-of-a-kind skylines and the warmth of the people.

On the whole travel across the province is a beautiful experience with significant chances of seeing the Northern Lights in spring, endless sunsets all summer long, and the occasional, incredible, lightning storm.

The province is full of countless cultural and historical points of interest including Western Development Museum, Royal Saskatchewan Museum, Regina Floral Conservatory, Saskatchewan Science Centre, Cypress Hills Provincial Park, Ukrainian Museum of Canada, and Wanuskewan Heritage Park.

Breakout West 2016 – West Canadian Music Awards

The Western Canadian Music Alliance is pleased to announce that Regina, Saskatchewan has been named host city for the 14th annual BreakOut West, taking place October 13-16, 2016. The Western Canadian Music Awards will be held Thursday, October 13th in Regina.

SaskMusic, Creative Saskatchewan, Tourism Saskatchewan, City of Regina, and Regina Hotel Association have all taken part in bringing the annual festival, conference and Western Canadian Music awards back to Regina, which last hosted the event in 2012. The first Western Canadian Music Awards was also hosted in Regina in 2003.

Saskatchewan Jazz Festival

This jazz festival always manages to attract big named artists who rarely get the chance to perform in the province.

This year’s festival takes place from June 25 to July 5 and will feature headlining acts such as The Roots, Lights and Erykah Badu.

Connect Music Festival

This is Canada’s longest running electronic music festival. “On a secluded Saskatchewan hillside…the tribes of the North and the West will gather for a flow of positive minds and hypnotic music,” reads the festival’s website.

Connect Festival started 20 years ago with international talent and urban culture in a beautiful Southern Saskatchewan setting. Since then, it has grown into Canada’s most illustrious grassroots electronica and alternative culture festivals. People from all walks of life come out and let their hair down.

Long Day’s Night Music Festival

Celebrate the five longest days of the year with great music under the living skies of Swift Current.

This festival is part of the Windscape Kite Festival (which is a must-see as well) with concerts taking place every night between June 17 to 21.

JazzFest Regina
